The Lies We Believe

Many Christians settle for shallow relationships because they believe lies about other people—that they don't need others, can't trust others, or that people never change. In this session, we discover how the gospel frees us to pursue biblical community through humility, loving confrontation, forgiveness, and hope in God's transforming grace.

2 areas of lies that we believe about others:

1. The Value of Others
   
   • “I’d rather be alone than have anyone intrude into my life”
   • “I don’t need anyone else in my life. I have my family."
   • “They already have a circle of friends. I don’t want to intrude."
2. The Character of Others
   
   • “I got hurt by some, so I just can’t trust anyone."
   • “I forgave them, but I just don’t want to have anything to do with them.
   • “People just don’t change.”
